Digvijay's advice to MLAs

Hyderabad, Aug 16 (UNI) AICC General Secretary and In-charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Digvijay Singh today met MLAs P Janardhana Reddy and Marri Sasidhar Reddy who were making public statements against government's policies.

Earlier, the MLAs had sought an appointment with Mr Singh, who came here to participate in PCC coordination committee meeting.

They were believed to have explained their differences with the government on certain decisions affecting Telangana region's interests.

Mr Singh reportedly advised them not to make public statements but raise such issues only at party fora.

Speaking to newspersons later, Mr Janardhana Reddy said they explained to Mr Singh they were not getting an opportunity to raise issues like implementation of GO 610 for repatriation of employees of other regions from Telangana, Pothireddypadu Project and acquisition of land for the Outer Ring Road Project.

He claimed they did not receive any positive response from either PCC President K Keshava Rao or Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Mr Janardhana Reddy said Mr Singh assured them the issues to protect the interests of the Telangana region would be discussed at the Coordination Committee meeting.

In a recent letter to Mr K Keshava Rao, Mr Janardhana Reddy sought a meeting of the Telangana Regional Coordination Committee of the PCC to discuss certain issues.

The Chief Minister and PCC President were closeted with Mr Singh before the Coordination Committee began its deliberations.
