CM urges PM to arrange more flights to Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 16 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to arrange more flights from the Gulf countrires to the state.
In a letter, he urged the Prime Minister to arrange for more flights to the state considering the rush of Malayalees from Gulf Countries during the Onam festival.
He also asked the Prime Minister to take steps to withdraw the decision of Air line companies to hike the flights charges from Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 and to issue tickets on the fares which existed before August.
The Chief Minister had also sent a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Union Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi pointing out the insufficent traveling facilities and fare hike faced by the Gulf Malayalees, a release said here.
