Book seized from SIMI activist belongs to city library

Kozhikode, Aug 16 (UNI) ''Mass Resistance in Kashmir'', a book printed in England and seized from a suspected activist of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) was taken from a library in the city, police today confirmed.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Pradeep Kumar, who conducted a raid on Hira Centre, a library run by the Calicut Charitable Trust, said the book was issued to Rasiq, one of the 18 activists arrested from Binanipuram in Ernakulam district yesterday.

He said the raid was conducted in pursuance of a case registered with Kochi Police and the information collected would be passed on to them for further investigation.

The book was among many incriminating documents seized from the detainees.
