Twins born with the help of pre-implantation genetic tech

Visakhapatnam, Aug 15 (UNI) For the first time in the country twin babies-a male and a female were born with the help of pre-implantation genetic technology here at the Krishna (In-Vitro Fertilisation) IVF Clinic today.

According to Krishna IVF Clinic Director G A Ramaraju, the pre-implantation was a new technology that can detect genetic abnormalities such as disease causing mutations and chromozomal abnormalities to prevent the conception of abnormal pregnancies like tyspicfibrosis.

The new technology was useful for couples, who undergo IVF with an advanced maternal age and for patient with representative IVF failure, he said.
