Rajasthan to become a leading state

Jaipur, Aug 15 (UNI) Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said Rajasthan would become a leading state in the country by scaling new heights in development.

Addressing a large gathering at the state level Independence day function held at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium in Udaipur today the Chief Minister highlighted the development works carried out in the last two and half years.

The Chief Minister said the power disconnection in the tribal belt due to payment default would be restored under the Kutir Jyoti scheme. Noting that there were around 16,000 such connections in the Udaipur division, she said a token amount of Rs.100 would be charged only in place of Rs 1700 at present.

The Chief Minister also assured that the oustees of the Mahi and Kadana dam would be rehabilitated and about 7000 pending court cases of the tribals would be withdrawn. She also said the government had taken a decision to grant title deeds to the tribals living in the tribal command areas.
