PMK asks Centre to help stop conflict in Lanka
Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 15 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder leader S Ramadoss today said India should take all efforts to stop the ongoing conflict in Sri Lanka.
In a statement here, Dr Ramadoss referred to the incident in which 61 school children were allegedly killed when the island nation's Air Force jets pounded the rebel-held north yesterday.
Saying the incident deserved outright condemnation, he said India should caution the island nation against such atrocities.
The conflict also had repercussions on India, which was receiving a steady influx of refugees fleeing the island nation.
The Indian Government should prevail upon Sri Lanka to stop the conflict and find an amicable solution to the Tamil problem through talks, he said.
