K'taka CM asks Centre to end all border disputes
Bangalore, Aug 15: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy today urged the Centre to put an end to all border disputes in the country.
In his address on the occasion of the Independance Day celebrations here today, Mr Kumarswamy said that the Center should draw the curtain once for all on the border issues being raked up by some states now and then.
Referring to the border issue with Maharashtra, he said that as far as Karnataka is concerned the issue is closed and stands for the implementation of Mahajan Commission in toto.
Stating that the government is committed to protect the interests of the state and its people he said that it still stands for the inclusion of Kasargodu to the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government would hold the World Kannada Meet in Belgaum as part ot the golden jubilee celebrations of the state formation.
He said the government has also decided to build Kannada Bhavans in border towns in Bijapur, Chamarajnagar, Kolar, Dakshina Kannada besides Belgaum during this year, he said.
