Jeev, Jyoti to tee off alongside Els in Singapore Open

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 15 (UNI) Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Jeev Milkha Singh and compatriot Jyoti Randhawa will rub shoulders with the likes of Ernie Els for a whopping 475,000 dollar winner's purse in the Major of Asia, the Singapore Open next month.

Besides the Indian duo, other Asian top guns including defending champion Adam Scott, Thai stars Thongchai Jaidee and Thaworn Wiratchant and Singapore's Mardan Mamat will also vie for the three million dollar event which tees off on September 7.

Nine more events in the tour offering prize money of 8.6 million dollars will be played and when the last putt drops to close the 2006 season, a total of 24.2 million dollars in total prize money, an all-time high in Asian golf history, would have been offered to the region's stars.

World No one Tiger Woods, who recently won his 50th career victory on the US PGA Tour, will continue his globe-trotting ways with another appearance at the five million dollar HSBC Champions, a special event on the Asian Tour, in Shanghai this November.
