India's Independence Day celebrated in Singapore

Singapore, Aug 15 (UNI) More than 600 Indian nationals attended the flag hoisting ceremony at the High Commission of India here this morning, to mark the 60th Independence Day.

High Commissioner Alok Prasad read out President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam's address to the nation delivered on the eve of the Independence in New Delhi, while children from Indian schools in Singapore rendered patriotic songs.
