I-Day celebrated in Rajasthan; main function at Udaipur

Jaipur, Aug 15 (UNI) The 60th Independence Day was celebrated in Rajasthan with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm amid tight security. The main function was held at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium in Udaipur where Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje hoisted the tricolur and took the salute.

Even a rain in the morning could not dampen the spirit of the function with a large number of people present to witness the function, which was for the first time organsied, outside the capital Jaipur.

The Chief Minister honoured 18 people from various walks of life with mementos and certificate for excellence in their respective fields. Sixteen police personnel were also honoured with police medals on the occasion.
