I-Day celebrated amidst few rain bouts

Kolkata, Aug 15 (UNI) Kolkatans celebrated the 60 th Independence Day amid drizzles and scattered showers throughout the morning.

The sky looked overcast and grey, with the sun peeping out frequently. A cool breeze made the weather pleasant.

People at several places were dissapointed as the streets were waterlogged due to the heavy rainfall that occurred last evening.

The Met officials have forecast heavy rainfall in the next few hours.

The mercury took a dip to 31 degrees Celcius from yesterday's 32 degrees, whereas the lowest remained constant at 26 degrees Celsius.

However, there was no major change in the humidity level which hovered around 95 per cent, Met officials added.
