Heavy rains forecast in Orissa, Gujarat

Pune, Aug 15 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Orissa and Gujarat.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and at many places in south Rajasthan.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, north Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Tamil Nadu.

The Southwest Monsoon has been active in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, east Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch and Kerala. It has been subdued over Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalaseema.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Madhya Maharashtra and at many places in Saurashtra and Kutch.
