Health managers alert over death report
Itanagar, Aug 15: Health managers in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh were alerted today over the reported deaths of some people in remote Kayabali village under Tirizino circle due to food poisoning, gastroenteritis and suspected malaria. The Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) which has taken over the Public Health Centers (PHC) at Trizino has decided to send a four-member para medical team tomorrow to the area with medicines to assess and tackle the situation, VHAI state project coordinator Ajay Kumar Tripathy informed.
The district medical officer (DMO), who has been monitoring the situation, further informed that he had provided medicines and DDT to the VHAI for the purpose while a health assistant would be accompanying the team.
A meeting of panchayat leaders today expressed concern over the situation and sought immediate steps to tackle the situation, Tripathy said adding the medical team would try to ascertain the exact cause of the deaths, if any, and treat the village folks.
