Haroa and Gaighata achieve complete sanitation facility

Barasat, Aug 15 (UNI) It took almost sixty years to provide complete sanitation facilities to a pair of villages in West Bengal's north 24 Parganas district so that none of its villagers take trouble to go in the open air to answer the nature's call.

Haroa and Gaighata were thus declared "Nirmal Village" after achieving the feat today.

State Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta while praising the panchayat members for achieving such feat, awarded certificate and a trophy each to pachayat members at a function to mark the 60th Independependence Day today.
