Gopooja to begin tomorrow

Tirupati, Aug 15 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct 'Gopooja' on the occasion of Gokulastami day tomorrow.

The pooja, organised by Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshna Shala Trust of the TTD, would be performed by the TTD Executive Officer A P V N Sarma and his wife at the Gosala premises here, in which hundreds of devotees would bee taking part.

The pooja will begin with Venugopala Swamy Abhishekam, followed by a flute concert and Vedaparayanam by the students of S V Vedapatasala at Tirumala.

Bhajans and Kolatam by artistes of Dhrama Prachara Parishad (DPP) of TTD and Bhajana Keerthana by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will also be held, TTD said in a release here today.

After pooja, the fourth time offering of seven crore 'Divya Mahamantra Japa,' (book) and initiation of fifth seven crore Jap Yagam would be held. Cultural programmes would be performed on the occasion.

The annual Gokulastami celebration would be held in Lord Sri Venkateswara temple tommorrow and 'utlotsavam' would be celebrated on August 17.

On the occassion of 'utlotsavam ' Arjitha Sevas (paid sevas) like Kalyanotsavam, Brahmotsavam, Unjal Seva, Vasantotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Sevas stand cancelled.

Special pooja would be performed in the Srivari temple. Lord Malayappaswamy would be taken out on 'golder tiruchi' accompanied by Sri Krishnaswamy varu in a procession on the four mada streets of the temple, the release added.
