Chittor dist to get Rs 16.60 cr for development

Chittoor, Aug 15: The Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh is set to get Rs 16.60 crore for development of villages where panchayat elections were unanimous.

The state government had announced Rs 15 lakh each for major village panchayat and Rs 5 lakh each for minor panchayats, where candidates were unanimously elected.

According to district officials here, of the 1,333 panchayats in the district, canddates in 332 minor panchayats were elected unanimously.
