Appointment govt. doctors early: Hossain
Barasat, Aug 15 (UNI) West Bengal Minister for Refugee and Rehabilitation Dr Murtaja Hossain today advocated early appoinment of new medical officers in the health department so that intending candidates were not frustrated after passing out from the medical colleges.
Addressing a workshop, organised by the Zilla Parishad here to review the different projects of Learning for All, self-employment and health in north 24 Parganas here, Dr Hossain suggested that the medical officers entering in the state health services be posted at the nearest location from their home so that they could fulfil their obligation to their village people and family members.
He said unnecessary delay in the recruitment process for medical officers in health services especially for new comers provoked them to go for private practices, which was causing dearthness of physicians in rural health centres and hospitals.
