A W Kanmadikar is dead

Indore, Aug 15 (UNI) Former BCCI secretary Anant Wageesh Kanmadikar, during whose tenure India won the World Cup, passed away here today.

He was 80.

Kanmadikar is survived by his wife, a son, two daughters and grandchildren. The last rites will take place here tomorrow.

He was secretary from 1979 to 1984 and later became BCCI vice-president. Kanmadikar also served as Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association chairman.
