4 workers at Narora plant arrested for entering restricted area
Bulandshahr, Aug 15 (UNI) Four workers at the Narora Atomic Power Plant were arrested yesterday for entering a restricted area and are being interrogated, police sources today said.
''Four workers, identified as Waseem, Shakir, Mohd Jan (all residents of Aligarh) and Dharamvir (a local resident) were arrested on grounds of suspicion as they were attempting to enter a restricted area and are being interrogated,'' police sources said.
Dharamvir has a prior police record, they added.
The Uttar Pradesh government had on Friday called on the Army as a standby for the sensitive power unit.
Around 100 army personnel were deployed in Narora that evening while another 100 troops joined them the next day.
The Army had also deployed anti-aircraft missiles around the plant to thwart any terrorist attack.
