No rain in HP
Shimla, Aug 14 (UNI) Several mid and lower hills of Himachal Pradesh had respite from the wet conditions, while light rains lashed isolated places in Kangra, Kullu and Hamirpur districts of the state during the last 24 hrs, the met office said.
Barring 19.4 mm rain at Dharamshala in Kangra district, 15.5 mm at Nadaun in Hamirpur district and 18 mm at Solang Nullah in Kullu district, the other parts of the state had no rain till 0830 hrs today.
The met office said Sundernagar in Mandi district and Guler in Kangra district recorded 3.4 mm and 3.5 mm of rains respectively during the last 24 hrs.
Bhang Manali and Dhundi, both in Kullu district, also recorded 6.8 and 5.6 mm of rains respectively, while the other parts of the state received no rainfall even as the sky remained cloudy during the later half of the day.
The met office said Dharamshala has so far received over 1,714.8 mm of rains till date from June one followed by 891.9 mm at Nagrota Surian and 785 mm at Bhang Manali.
The sky was clear over Shimla and other adjoining areas in the morning before being covered by clouds in the afternoon.
The state capital recorded a night temperature of 16.5 degrees, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded minimum of 21.1 and 19.5 degree Celsius.
