Kohima, Aug 14: Security measures have been beefed up throughout Nagaland, especially in the areas bordering Asom, for Independence Day celebrations ahead.

Official sources said a high level meeting held on August 12 reviewed the overall security scenario of the state here.

Although there had been no threat from any underground outfits of the state ,however, the intelligence reports have warned of the plans by some underground outfits outside the state to plant bombs here and in the commercial hub of Dimapur.

Police and security forces had become very vigilant in the vulnerable areas and entry points to the state, police said.
