Aizwal, Aug 13: Education authorities have declared holiday in some schools at Farkawn village, in the eastern border area near Myanmar, following the outbreak of an unidentified fever.

Offical sources here today said the villagers of the area have been infected with an unknown fever and were suffering this fever since a month.

Health officals expressed concern over the disease and asked the villagers to consult doctors in the hospital immediately.

''We are trying to identify the cause of the fever. It may be due to viral infection,'' a state health official said.

The school authority issued holiday notice on August 10 as there was thin attendance in the classes for a week.

Education department sources said that only 20 pupilS out of 100 were able to attend the school in first ten days of the month, which compelled the authority to issue a holiday notice.

A group of doctors rushed to the area to control further spread of the disease.
