Two doctors trapped for accepting bribe

Rourkela, Aug 13 (UNI) The vigilance sleuths have arrested one Additional District Medical Officer while the CBI caught red handed another doctor for accepting bribe.

Sundargarh Additional District Medical Officer(ADMO) Dhaneswar Choudhury was trapped on Friday by the Orissa vigilance sleuths while taking a bribe of Rs 2000 from one Sonu Seth of Patrapalli village under Bhasma police station in Sundergarh district.

The doctor was caught while accepting the bribe for an operation.

He was later produced before the Vigilance court at Sambalpur.

The vigilance sleuths later raided his house and seized Rs 15 lakhs, 390 grams of gold from his locker in the SBI main branch and paternal house at RRIT colony of Tumarpalli near Ujjalpur.

In another incident, Dr Prasanna Kumar Patel of ESI hospital at Kansbahal was trapped by CBI on Friday while receiving a bribe of Rs 400 from an insured contract worker of Rourkela Steel Plant(RSP) towards his treatment.

Dr Patel was taken to Bhubaneswar to be produced before the designated CBI court.
