Tension grip Moreh, student leader killed

Imphal, Aug 13 (UNI) Tension gripped Moreh, the border town at Manipur, after a student leader was found shot dead this morning.

Police said here that prohibitory orders were clamped in the area in view of protests against the killing of President of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Chandel district committee, Sunil Agarwal.

Sunil, who was abducted by some unidentified persons yesterday, was found shot dead this morning.

The AMSU Chandel district committee has called an indefinite bandh in Moreh. Large numbers of women and civil organisations have also supported the strike.

Officials said the district administration was trying to resolve the matter and nab the culprits.

No arrests were reported so far.
