Rajkot police take custody of Karan Jadeja
Rajkot, Aug 13: Karan Jadeja, the son of 'Godmother' Santokben Jadeja, the prime accused in the murder of Rekha Jadeja (32), daughter-in-law of Santokben Jadeja, was brought here today from Mumbai on transfer warrants.
A team led by Police Inspector V V Gohil took possession of the accused from Mumbai police on Friday and brought him here today by road, Mr Gohil said.
The accused will be produced before the local court here tomorrow and police will seek his remand in connection with the murder of Rekha Jadeja, he added.
Karan was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch on July 26 from a Mumbai suburb under the Arms Act. He was on Mumbai police remand till August 10.
Rekha Khandhal Jadeja was shot dead here at her residence on Kalavad road area on May 20, 2006. Karan, the prime suspect in the case, fled after committing the crime.
The local police here had informed the Mumbai police about Karan's escape and that the Saurashtra based criminal was hiding in Mumbai.
