Indore, Aug 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has assured that a comprehensive inquiry would be conducted into the loss of two bundles of general studies question papers meant for the State Civil Services Preliminary Exam.

''In such a situation it was only proper to postpone the test,'' he told reporters here yesterday.

Of the 36 bundles taken to Shahdol for the August 20 exam, two went missing. The test will now take place on September 24.

''The question paper has not leaked but the bundles were lost,'' explained Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman P K Joshi.

Question papers were being sent to 44 district headquarters. In Shahdol, employees conveying the papers deposited only 34 bundles and the district collector alerted the commission whose emergency meeting here on August 11 decided to postpone the exam.
