61 child labourers rescued in Mumbai
Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) In a major operation in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane districts, the police here have rescued about 61 children employed as child labourers in Zari and Hotel industries.
The children, all below 15 years of age, were freed by the police teams in a raid conducted at Zari industry and hotels located in Muslim Nagar, Dharavi and Bhiwandi in Thane District late night yesterday.
On a tip-off received by the police from NGOs and others, police raided the places and arrested 21 people under the Child Labour Act.
