ULFA triggers blasts in Asom

Guwahati, Aug 12 (UNI) The banned ULFA today triggered blasts across Asom this evening injuring several people.

Several people were injured when the outfit triggered a blast in the railway colony of Bamunimaidan area of the city this evening, police said. The blast occurred near a temple in the colony at 1715 hours today.

The area has been a target of terrorist blasts over the years as the railway lines go through it and the Guwahati refinery is located nearby .

The ULFA made another abortive attempt in Lakhimpur, in upper Asom, but the grenade thrown failed to burst, police added.
