Three-day celebrations for Janmashtami
Tirupati, Aug 12 (UNI) The Tirupati-based International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will celebrate the Srikrishna Janmashtami, the advent of Lord Krishna to the earth, for three days starting from August 15, at Sri Radha Govinda Govinda Temple here.
On the occasion, special poojas would be performed to presiding deities, the ISKCON temple sources said here last evening.
Adding to the religious fervour, several idols depicting different manifestations of Lord Mahavishnu would be placed at various places on Hare Krishna Road.
Noted dancers and musicians from Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states would perform and more than two lakh devotees were expected to take part in the celebrations, sources added.
