Stray bullet kills one, lead to massive protest.
Srinagar, Aug 12 (UNI) The villagers of Boban in north Kashmir today held a demonstration protesting against the alleged killing of a villager by the security forces.
A defence ministry spokesman said an encounter had taken place early this morning at the village between the security forces and militants.
The spokesman added that in the morning, they heard that one person was killed in the village. However, he said the villager might have been killed by a stray bullet while he was sleeping on the top of his house.
He said when the firing stopped, security forces searched the area and recovered one AK assault rifle and a rucksack near the site of the encounter.
The militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness, he said.
The villagers, including women, took to streets this morning alleging that the man was killed by security forces deliberately.
