Security beefed up in Hyderabad airport

Hyderabad, Aug 12 (UNI) Security has been further beefed up in the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Begumpet here following intelligence reports that terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Toiba had plans to blast vital installations, including dams, airports and railway stations.

Additional men of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have been posted at the airport today. Apart from these, men in plainclothes have also been watching the movements of every passenger.

Passengers were being allowed to carry only one bag with them and the rest was being sent to the cargo area after ''total scrutiny.'' Though some passengers complained that the present security arrangements required their presence in the airport four hours in advance, most were happy that they would be reaching their destinations safely.

Security authorities were not allowing passengers to take any liquid, including water bottles, with them on board the aircraft.
