GSPL maintaining its network for Gas supply
Gandhinagar, Aug 12 (UNI) The gas carrier company Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation is supplying more than three million standard cubic meter per day (MMSCMD) gas to various NTPC power plants on HBJ network to avert the crisis posed by shortfall of gas due to closure of the ONGC unit at Hazira, Surat.
The company is making gas available to Anta, Auriya, Dadri NTPC's plants on HBJ through Dehej. The gas demand has declined due to closure of various units and is now operating around 70 per cent of it's capacity as supplies to several major buyers was restored after the floods since last Monday.
In a statement today, the company said that the GSPL Mora's control was closed on August 8, 2006 but it was able to supply gas uninterrupted to buyers through the Vadodara control room.
Operation of Mora control room has been restored and supply of gas to GSEC Utran has commenced from yesterday evening.
In Surat, uninterrupted gas supply is maintained for Essar group and Gujarat Gas company limited, the supplier of domestic gas for the inundated diamond city. Gujarat Gas was able to maintain CNG gas supplies as well as domestic gas supplies in parts of Surat despite the floods.
