Facelift to millenium's Panchalinga Darshan in Nov.

Mysore, Aug 12: Karnataka Minister for Muzarai Nagraj Shetty said that preparations are in full swing for Millennium's first Panchalinga Darshan at Talakad on November 20.

Talking to newsmen here last evening, he said plans have been prepared to provide basic ammenities to over 10 lakh devotees expected to for Panchalinga Darshan held once in 13 years. Several Committees were formed to monitor the works to be taken up at a cost Rs 6.51 Crores. The State government has already released Rs Three Crores.

In all 311 km of road would be upgraded at an estimated cost of Rs 34 Crores and the Public Works Department has already invited tenders for the works.

Mr Shetty said that 13 temples in and around Talakad would also get a facelift.

Replying to a question, he said that suitable amendment would be introduced toe Endowment Act to plug loopholes and to prevent leakage of funds.
