DU announces code of conduct for students' union elections
New Delhi, Aug 12: The Delhi University has announced the model code of conduct for the students' union elections and banned candidates from putting up posters, including stickers, and hoardings and wall writing.
The candidates cannot make use of mikes and loudspeakers outside or inside the vicinity of the university, according to the guidelines.
University Registrar A K Dubey said not more than two vehicles will be allowed by each candidate while campaigning for the September 8 polls.
The limit on the election expenses has been fixed at Rs 10,000 per candidate, he added.
Entry of non-students into colleges and the University campus for campaigning has also been banned.
Canvassing will not be allowed in the University hostels after 2200 hrs.
''Any act of violation of the above will constitute an act of indiscipline as per Ordinance XV(b) of the University,'' Mr Dubey said.
