Couple kill mentally retarded son, commit suicide

Hubli, Aug 12 (UNI) A couple has killed their eight-year-old mentally retarded son by throwing him before a speeding train and committed suicide by jumping in front of it near Kusgal village on the outskirts of the city.

Railway police said Suresh Gangappa Paralad and his wife Shobha, hailing from Bailhongal in Belgaum district, had taken the extreme step on Thursday last. Bodies of all the three were found yesterday.

The health condition of their son, Sangmesh, was stated to be the reason behind the suicide, police added.
