Cong appoints observers for flood relief work
Bhopal, Aug 12 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has appointed observers to make loss assessment in flood-affected regions.
''The observers would present their report after assessing loss due to floods and submergence in affected areas and mismanagement in arrangement,'' MPCC President Subhash Yadav said here today.
Pointing out that widespread damages took place due to heavy rains in western Madhya Pradesh recently, he alleged that the government was showing apathy in providing relief.
Mr Yadav, who surveyed flood-affected Khargone district, said about 1,000 houses were damaged in Kasravad and 300 in Bhagvanpura.
Besides, water supply was badly affected in the district.
He asked Congress workers to get together for providing relief and rehabilitation to the flood-affected victims.
Mr Yadav added that Rajpur, Sendhwa, Pati, Anjad, Julwania, Palsood, Khetia, Nimali and Pansemal villages in Barwani were also badly affected.
