'Heat in Dust' -documentary released by K'taka CM

Bangalore, Aug 12: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today released a cassette titled 'Heat in Dust' a 18 minute documentary on Mining in Bellary district.

The documentary, Produced by two senior journalists Maya Jaideep and K G Vasuki dealt with key issues concerning the impact of mining on Bellary and was a benchmark analysis of the effect of the new economic order. It deals with the surge in iron ore mining as China guzzled up resources to maintain its tempo of economic growth.

The film also showed the impact of mining on ecology and health of the population and destruction of agrarian system endangering the lives of the poor and marginal farmers.

Home Minister M P Prakash, in charge minister of Bellary district, was also present on the occasion.
