Blast rocks Guwahati

Guwahati, Aug 12 (UNI) Several persons were injured in a blast in railway colony of Bamunimaidan area of the city this evening, police said.

The blast, reportedly engineered by the ULFA occurred near a temple in the colony at 1715 hours today.

The area has been a target of terrorist blasts over the years as the railway lines go through it and the Guwahati refinery is located near it.

Details of casualties and injuries were awaited.
