Army Yatching Nod reign supreme

Hyderabad, Aug 12 (UNI) The center for top 40 sailors of the country Army Yatching Nod, Mumbai, bagged three out of four titles at stake in the National Laser Sailing Championship which concluded at Hussainsagar lake here today.

Doha Asian Games medal prospect Subedar Rajesh Choudhary dominated the Laser Radial winning nine out of ten possible races. Though he was unlucky not to win the ninth race which he discarded, he ended up with seven penalty points to win the top spot.

Havaldar BK Rout with one win in the ninth race and five second places, two third places and one fourth place, finished with 14 penalty points to secure the second place.

Havaldar P Madhu, with one second place, four third places, two fourth places, one fifth and one sixth place, settled for third spot in the overall tally.

In the Laser Standard, Captain NS Johal with five first places, two second places, one third place and two fifth places bagged top spot in the over all tally. Havaldar V Harihara who won one race, five second spots, two third places and two fourth places secured the overall second position. Jasvir Singh with two wins, one second place, four third places and three fourth places finished in the overall third position.

Union Minister for Child and Women Welfare Ms Renuka Chowdary gave away the prizes in the closing ceremony.
