Action ordered against 3 for torturing deaf, dumb children
Dharwad, Aug 12 (UNI) District deputy commissioner M S Sreekar today ordered action against three employees of a private deaf and dumb children residential school for allegedly torturing its inmates and providing them with unhygenic food.
On a complaint that the employees had been beating the children regularly and providing them unhealthy food, Mr Sreekar paid a surpise visit to the school.
During inspection he found that while the total strength of the school was only 95, the employees had been showing on paper that it was 135. Besides, they had also been demanding Rs 10,000 each from parents to provide hearing aid equipment to deaf children.
He immediately ordered action against warden Shobha Vaddar, Secretary M A Mogin and Lingaraj.
