Woman sarpanch beaten badly

Shivpuri, MP, Aug 11 (UNI) A tribal woman sarpanch was badly beaten up by some persons at Satnavada village in this district, police said today.

Panchs Kaptan Singh Gadaria and Rajendra Rathore besides three other accused -- Dharmu Kushwaha, Sugharsingh Kushwaha and Kailas -- went to sarpanch Tulsibai's house last night and demanded Rs 5,000 and some wheat sacks.

On the woman sarpanch's refusal, the accused dragged her out of home and thrashed her.
