US official says cities not targeted in plane plot
WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (Reuters) there was no targeting of cities in a plot foiled by Britain to blow up flights to the United States, the US Department of Homeland Security said today.
Charles Allen, an intelligence official with the department, was asked by reporters which cities were targeted in the plot.
Allen said flights from Britain go to a number of US cities, but added, ''there was no targeting of cities. This was an effort to destroy multiple passenger aircraft in flight.'' Reuters AD VP0008
