UP prepared to foil any terrorist activity

Lucknow, Aug 11 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today said it was prepared to deal with any situation after a warning was issued by the US Embassy regarding threat perception.

''We are constantly reviewing the situation and have prepared a fool-proof plan to counter any eventuality,'' state chief secretary Naveen Chandra Bajpai said here.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Bajpai said there was nothing like sounding an alert after the warning by the US, as UP was always in a state of prepardness against terrorism.

''I can assure the people of UP there is nothing to panic, the state police is capable of foiling any evil design of anti-nationals,'' the CS commented.

To a question if the UP government was interested in handing over some sensitive installation to the Army, Mr Bajpai denied the possibility saying the state police was capable to deal with any situation.

He also denied that Narora Atomic Power Plant in Bullandshahr had been handed over to the Army.
