Two Pak terrorists killed, constable injured in encounter
Jammu, Aug 11 (UNI) Security forces gunned down two terrorists of the Pakistan based outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in the border district of Poonch this evening, army sources said here today.
The operation of 36 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police started at 1430 hrs after receiving information about the presence of foreign militants at Haruni village under Gursai police station in Surankote, the sources told UNI.
''The Operation was just finished and search operations are underway. The slain terrorists, indentified as Abu Qatal, the district commander of HM and Abu Umar, were Pakistani nationals,'' they added.
One constable of JK police was injured in the operation.
One security force jawan was injured during an encounter with militants in Sangot Sallah (Kas Balari) in border district Poonch, official sources said.
''A search operation was conducted by security forces and Cammando Group Poonch in village Sangot Nallah. During this, a encounter took place in which a jawan got serious injuries. No militant could be arrested in the operation.'' sources added.
In another incident, the army, JK police and Border Security Forces (BSF) conducted joint search operation in Basant Garh of Udahmpur district.
Sources said a hideout of militants was busted during search operation at Seol Nallah (Kadawa). Two binoculars Improved Explosive devices (IEDs) and other items were recovered from the hideout.
