SKILL has jumped the gun on project, says Bali
Shimla, Aug 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali today said the SKIL Infrastructure has jumped the gun by claiming that it had received the state government's approval for setting up the Rs 11,000 crore tourism project in the state.
''It will be naive to claim that the group had been allotted the project. It is only at a preliminary stage,'' he said, while addressing a press conference, here.
Mr Singh was reacting to a report in a leading financial newspaper that said the state government's Cabinet had cleared the project on Saturday.
The project includes the construction of a resort with a five star hotels, a ski village, a fruit and a processing zone, an international airport and a luxury train on the lines of the Palace of Wheels.
Mr Bali said the state government had only formally cleared the project, proposed by SKIL Infrastructure, which has now been sent to the Centre for its approval.
''Provided the Centre's permission is granted to the project, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between the company and the state government,'' he said.
The Transport and Tourism Minister said the project was at a preliminary stage and would take time before the projects gets going.
