Security in Mumbai stepped-up following US warning
Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Government Railway Police (GRP), Mumbai Commissioner Suresh Khopade today said security at all railway stations in the city has been enhanced in view of the US warning of an impending serial terror strike in Delhi and Mumbai.
Mr Khopade told UNI that besides tightening up patrolling, a thorough frisking of passengers is being done in view of the recent serial blasts in Mumbai and the British authorities foiling an alleged plot to blow up multiple flights between the UK and US yesterday.
Mumbai Commissioner of Police A N Roy also said security has been beefed up in and around the city following the terror warning issued by the US Embassy.
The US alert warns India of possible terror strikes on airports, hotels, railways stations, tourist sites and sensitive installations.
