Security beefed up in Mumbai: Police chief
Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Security has been beefed up across the city in view of Independence Day to be followed by 'Janmashthami' festival.
Talking to mediapersons on the sideline of exihibition-cum-sale of security instruments like metal detectors, CCTV (Close Circuit Television), Bomb Disposal kits and others, Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy said, ''Security has been beefed up at all religious places, government buildings, several multiplexes and malls.
The police commissioner also held a meeting of private security agencies and owners of Multiplexes to review security arrangements made by them at their workplaces.
Mr Roy said, ''We have directed all multiplex owners to install security instruments at their respective malls for the safety of the masses.'' He has also suggested the State government that before it provides license permitting construction of malls, the owners should give an assurance in writing about the security arrangements at the complex, he added.
