RS adjourned for second time on Natwar issue

New Delhi, Aug 11: Rajya Sabha was today adjourned for the second time during the day amid noisy scenes on the issue of former external affairs minister Natwar Singh's bid to present his case in the House relating to the Justice R S Pathak Authority report even though the Deputy Chairman said the matter was ''under consideration''.

As soon as the House assembled in the post-luch session at 1400 hrs, Mr Natwar Singh got up to speak.

However, the Deputy Chairman said the matter was under consideration.

This was followed by noisy scenes from the opposition benches protesting against the former external affairs minister not being allowed to speak.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, the Deputy Chairman adjourned the house till 1430 hrs.

Earlier durigng the pre-lunch session, firm rejection by the Deputy Chairman of the former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh's bid to present his case to the House led to uproarious scenes, forcing the chair to adjourn the House till 1400 hrs.
