Pondy adm to hold talks with lecturers on Aug 14: CM

Pondicherry,Aug 11(UNI)The Pondicherry administration will hold talks with the lecturers taking classes for Plus one and Plus two on August 14 to sort out their problems, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan told the legisdlative assembly today.

He was replying to a special mention from PMC member N Anand.

Tabling his special mention, Mr Anand said the lecturers had started a sit-in strike from August eight to press their demands, which would affect the students.

MDMK member P R Siva, through another special mention brought to the notice of the government that 36 temporary houses constructed for the tsunami victims in Karaikal were gutted in a fire last night, in which a child sustained burns.

He demanded that the government should construct houses for the affected on a warfooting manner.
