NATO soldier killed in Afghan suicide blast

KABUL, Aug 11 (Reuters) A NATO soldier was killed in Afghanistan today when a suicide bomber rammed his car into a convoy in the violence-racked south of the country, near the border with Pakistan.

The incident happened mid-afternoon in Kandahar province, NATO said in a statement. A Taliban spokesman told Reuters eight foreign soldiers had been killed in the attack. Neither report could be independently verified.
